Delhi- an online E-FIR no.80033703 U/S 303(2) BNS was received at the PS Anand Vihar Railway Station wherein, the complainant Lady W/O Sunil Kumar Shukla R/O Sector 49, Noida, U.P. stated that her gold and silver Jewellery items worth approximately ₹20 lakhs and cash ₹55,000/- (which were kept in a lady’s purse), were stolen by an unidentified individual. The theft reportedly occurred around 10:00 PM on the night of April 23, 2026, in Rewa Express (Train No. 12828), which was standing at Platform No.1 of Anand Vihar Railway Station. The case was entrusted to ASI Randhawa for investigation.
During the investigation and Checking of CCTV footages with the help of RPF staff, it is found in the footage of the above Rewa Express, an individual was observed picking up the complainant’s ladies’ purse from her seat and walking away with it. In a significant achievement, the team of Police Station AVRS apprehended the accused involved in the offence, and has successfully solved a case of jewellery bag lifting.
Arrest of Accused
The accused, Intaz Ali (46 years), S/o Shakir Ali, R/o Wazirpur Industrial Area, Ashok Vihar, Delhi, has been arrested by IO/ASI Randhawa No. 49/Rly in connection with E-FIR No. 80033703/26, registered under sections 305(C)/317(2) BNS at PS-AVRS.
Recovery of Stolen Property
During the course of investigation and subsequent arrest, stolen property comprising gold and silver jewellery worth approximately ₹20 lakhs and cash some cash have been recovered from the possession of the accused. The recovered property has been duly deposited for safe custody.
Seizure of Vehicle Used in Crime
The police team has also seized the scooty bearing registration No. DL8SBS09xx, which was used by the accused in the commission of the crime. The vehicle has been taken into possession and deposited as per legal procedure.
Further Investigation
Further investigation is underway to ascertain his involvement in other similar cases.

He was also arrested previously in a case vide FIR No. 80027312, dated 16.03.2024, U/S 379/411 IPC & U/S 147/179 Railways Act in PS NDRS
