One notorious desperate criminal, declared Proclaimed Offender in two cases and wanted in one NBW case, has been arrested.
Accused was continuously changing hideouts for the last 6-7 months to evade arrest.
Accused involved in multiple cases of snatching, theft and robbery across Delhi.
*INCIDENT TEAM AND OPERATION:-
Delhi- In compliance with the directions and guidelines issued by PHQ and as conveyed by the undersigned regarding tracing and arrest of proclaimed offenders and absconders, continuous efforts were being made by the staff of PS Moti Nagar to identify and apprehend such criminals. A dedicated team comprising HC Dinesh and HC Punit was constituted under the leadership of Insp. Pankaj Kumar and under the supervision of Insp. Sunil Kumar, SHO/PS Moti Nagar, & ACP Punjabi Bagh and under the overall supervision of the undersigned. The team worked relentlessly and developed secret information regarding the movement of one notorious absconder namely Ritesh @ Piyush @ Manish, who had been evading arrest for the last several months by frequently changing his locations. The accused namely Ritesh @ Piyush @ Manish S/o Sh. Ravinder, resident of Paharganj, Delhi, had been declared Proclaimed Offender in case FIR No. 339/23 U/s 379/356/34 IPC PS Naraina by the Hon’ble Court of JMFC-08, Patiala House Courts vide order dated 17.09.2025. He was also declared Proclaimed Offender in case FIR No. 220/24 U/s 379/411/34 IPC PS Janak Puri by the Hon’ble Court of JMFC-11, Dwarka Courts vide order dated 21.07.2025. Further, NBWs were also pending against him in FIR No. 299/23 U/s 356/379/34 IPC PS Ashok Vihar. After sustained surveillance, technical analysis and continuous raids, the team finally succeeded in apprehending the accused from the area of Delhi Gate, Darya Ganj on 28.04.2026. The accused was arrested after sustained efforts of more than 6-7 months.
