INCIDENT, INFORMATION & TEAM

On 16.05.2026, a case vide e-FIR U/s 305 BNS was registered at PS Moti Nagar regarding theft of cash amounting to approximately Rs. 98,000/- near K.T. Traders, Sudarshan Park, Moti Nagar, Delhi.

Taking swift action, a dedicated police team comprising SI Shubham Yadav, HC Dinesh Kumar, HC Omprakash Pawanda, HC Yogesh, Ct. Chander Prakash and Ct. Pradeep was constituted under the leadership of Insp. Sunil Kumar, SHO/PS Moti Nagar. under the guidance of ACP/Punjabi Bagh Sub-Division Sh. Jai Prakash and under the overall supervision of the undersigned.

Immediately after registration of the case, the team started working on all available clues and CCTV footage around the crime scene.

INVESTIGATION, CCTV ANALYSIS & ARREST

During investigation, the police team conducted extensive CCTV analysis and scanned more than 80 CCTV cameras installed in and around the area. The accused persons had cleverly attempted to mislead the investigation by changing routes and using two different auto-rickshaws after commission of offence.

Despite their efforts to evade arrest, the dedicated police team continuously tracked their movement through CCTV footage and technical inputs. After relentless efforts, all six accused persons were successfully identified and apprehended from the area of Paharganj, Delhi.

Upon their apprehension, stolen cash amounting to Rs. 78,800/- along with three stolen mobile phones were recovered from their possession.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused persons are members of an inter-state theft gang and are habitual criminals involved in several theft and burglary cases across different states.

MODUS OPERANDI
The accused persons usually target individuals carrying cash or valuables in crowded places such as markets and commercial areas.
They work in coordination with each other by deliberately creating hindrance in the movement of the targeted person. One accused sprays itching powder on the victim to create distraction and discomfort, while the other accomplices take advantage of the confusion and steal cash or valuables from the victim.

All accused persons are residents of Village Fatapukur Jhanjhipada, PS Rajganj, District Jalpaigudi, West Bengal.

PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENTS
The accused persons are habitual offenders and have been previously involved in several cases of theft and burglary registered across different states of the country.

FURTHER INVESTIGATION
Further investigation of the case is in progress to ascertain involvement of the accused persons in other similar criminal cases and to trace remaining stolen property.
