Interstate racket facilitating cheating in government recruitment examinations busted.
Seven accused arrested, including the alleged kingpin of the syndicate.
Customized mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, nano ear buds, tablet, SIM cards and other electronic devices recovered.
INCIDENT, TEAM & OPERATION
On 26.07.2026, a complaint was received from Central Sanskrit University, Janakpuri regarding the use of unfair means during the LDC Recruitment Examination conducted at KVS, C-2, Janakpuri. During checking at the examination centre, a customized mobile phone was recovered from candidate Aarti, while a Bluetooth device with a SIM card and nano ear buds was recovered from candidate Hemant.
Accordingly, FIR No. 212/2026 dated 26.07.2026 U/s 318(2) BNS and Sections 3/4/10/11 of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act was registered at PS Janakpuri. Both candidates were arrested and the electronic devices were seized.
Considering the gravity of the offence, a dedicated team comprising Insp. Dinesh Kumar, SI Awant, HC Babu Lal, HC Ram Kishan and Ct. Prashant under the supervision of Sh. Sohaib Ahmed SHO/Janakpuri and Sh. Sharat Chandra Nirmal, ACP/Rajouri Garden, conducted a detailed investigation to unearth the entire network.
During interrogation, accused Hemant disclosed that his brother Rinku had arranged the Bluetooth device and SIM card through Virender for ₹12 lakh to enable him to receive answers from outside the examination hall. Acting on this information, both Rinku and Virender were arrested.
Similarly, accused Aarti disclosed that her friend Sanni had provided her with a customized mobile phone, Bluetooth device, SIM card and nano ear buds to transmit the question paper and receive answers. The deal was fixed for ₹10 lakh. Investigation led to the arrest of Sanni, who further revealed the involvement of Deepak. The deal between Sanni and Deepak had been fixed for ₹8 lakh.
Based on technical surveillance, social media analysis and secret information, Deepak was identified and arrested. During interrogation, he disclosed that he was working under the directions of Sonu Maan, the alleged mastermind of the racket.
Further technical surveillance and intelligence led the team to Dadri Bypass Road, Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, where Sonu Maan was apprehended while allegedly facilitating cheating in another government recruitment examination. During his arrest, a tablet linked to a foreign WhatsApp account, a customized mobile phone, three Bluetooth devices, four nano ear buds and other electronic devices and documents were recovered and seized.
Further investigation is in progress.

PROFILE OF KEY ACCUSED
Sanni: Employed as a Lab Attendant at Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi. He worked as an agent who identified candidates and connected them with the kingpin in return for commission.
Deepak: A 12th-pass individual who acted as an agent, arranged candidates and facilitated cheating by providing electronic devices and transmitting answers during examinations.
Sonu Kumar @ Sonu Maan: Employed as a Fireman in the Chandigarh Fire Department. He is the alleged mastermind of the racket who arranged customized electronic devices, received leaked question papers, prepared answers and transmitted them to candidates through his network of agents.
Further investigation is in progress to identify other members of the syndicate, trace the financial transactions and ascertain their involvement in similar examination cheating cases across different states.
