BIG BREAKTHROUGH: SERIAL BURGLAR ARRESTED WITH HUGE CACHE OF CASH & GOLD-SILVER JEWELLERY RECOVERED APPROX WORTH ₹30 LAC WITH ₹64,000 CASH.
INCIDENT:-
In a major breakthrough against burglaries, the crack team of Police Station GTB Enclave, Shahdara District, has apprehended a notorious and habitual night burglar involved in multiple house thefts and recovered a substantial amount of stolen cash and precious jewellery.
BRIEF FACTS:-
A case of house burglary/theft was reported at PS GTB Enclave, following which police swung into immediate action. A dedicated team rushed to the spot and launched a comprehensive investigation.
During the course of investigation, over 100 CCTV cameras meticulously scanned. After sustained efforts and technical analysis and secret information, the team successfully traced and apprehended the accused.
ACCUSED ARRESTED:-
Jahagir @ Bhaku @ Shahid R/o New Seemapuri, Delhi
Age: 34 years.
RECOVERY:-
1. Cash amounting to ₹64,000/-
2. 05 Gold Chains along with 01 Gold Locket
3. 05 Gold Rings
4. 04 Gold Kada (Bracelets)
5. 15 Silver Articles (Payal/Anklets)
6. Other gold and silver jewellery items
All recovered items were duly sealed, marked, and taken into possession vide proper seizure memo.
MODUS OPERANDI:-
The accused was a seasoned burglar who would conduct reconnaissance in areas like GTB Enclave and Dilshad Garden, identifying locked houses and vulnerable entry points. Targeted houses accessible via adjoining under-construction buildings. Specifically targeted houses with lights switched off, knowing it was often used as a deception tactic.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED:-
The accused, a Delhi native and labourer by profession, fell into criminal activities due to financial distress, drug addiction, and bad company. He has a long history of involvement in burglary cases and has been arrested multiple times in the past. He used to dispose of stolen jewellery and valuables through street vendors, scrap dealers, and local receivers, while the cash was largely spent on drugs and other vices.

Further investigation is underway to link the recovered property with other pending cases and to unearth the broader network of receivers involved in disposing of stolen goods.
