Delhi- On 25.02.2026, during the afternoon hours, a snatching incident was reported at PS Seelampur. Upon reaching the spot near the Dharampura traffic light, the complainant, a 23-year-old female, stated that while she was travelling in a TSR, the vehicle slowed down at the traffic signal when an unknown person suddenly snatched her mobile phone from her hand and fled from the spot.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 92/26 under Section 304 BNS was registered at PS Seelampur, and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, a dedicated team led by Insp. Narpal Singh Yadav, SHO/PS Seelampur, worked on various clues and successfully apprehended a suspect identified as Sonu @ Bander (25 years), S/o Prakash, R/o Bhopura, Ghaziabad. During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the crime, and the snatched mobile phone of the victim was recovered from his possession.
Upon detailed verification, the accused was found to be previously involved in more than 15 cases related to robbery, snatching, theft, and offences under the Arms Act. Further investigation in the case is in progress.
