Narcotics Squad in the supervision of DCP Jitender Meena aligned a trap and recovered 21 kgs Ganjha
Sharp officers of Narcotics department through a trap arrested
20.06.2024. | Narcotics Squads/North-West arrested Ankit Kumar resident of Roshanara road PS Sabzi Mandi and recovered 21.850 Kg Ganjha. He was indulged in drug peddling for the past few years and had supplied contraband substance to various clients on demand.
Acting proactively to curb crime & criminals in the area of North-West District, Staff was deployed for patrolling duties in the area. The team was detailed and specifically tasked to identify and nab criminals involved in Drug Peddling.
Based on a tip regarding a drug peddler in the area of PS Model Town, a dedicated team comprising of SI Rajender, ASI Dinesh, ASI Chanderpal, HC Vishal, Ct Amardeep was constituted under the close supervision of Inspr Dinesh Dahiya, I/C Narcotics Squad & Sh. Ranjeet Singh Dhaka, ACP/ Operations.
On 15.06.24, the team was strategically positioned in the area where on pointing out by the informer, they noticed a suspicious male carrying a bag. On observing police, he tried to flee away, however police staff successfully nabbed him by displaying keen sense of alertness and swift response. During search of his polythene bag, 4.75 kg of Gaanja was found concealed.
During his interrogation, he confessed that he is drug peddler and was roaming in the area in search of customers for selling drugs and he further disclosed that he has been indulged in drug peddling for the past few months and had supplied Gaanja to various clients on demand. He further disclosed that he used to take the delivery of Gaanja from various places of Delhi and further supplied it to the clients on his demand. Immediately, on the instance of accused Ankit Kumar, 4.190 Kg Ganja was recovered from the area of PS Bada Hindu Rao and 12.910 Kg Ganja was recovered from another hideout situated in the area of PS Subzi Mandi. So far total 21.850 Kg Ganja was recovered.
Further efforts are being made to trace his possible involvement in other cases also.
