Rohit Kumar, the investigator and crime editor of News India 9 found himself in the middle of dangerous and lethal attacks once he aired a story about harassment and suicide of his late friend Hani Diwedi Unexpectedly,

he was attacked by armed men on the petrol pump at G.K. who he bravely faced. Within 24 hours, the attackers were imprisoned by the G.K., Delhi police on an FIR being registered. As time went by, Rohit was being gang stalked repeatedly day in and day out. The stalkers would follow him and chase his car and swirl abuses and slander. Rohit infact was very harassed and tortured such that he couldn’t believe that his phones were being hacked and his whereabouts were being traced. Not a surprise, yet another life threatening attack ensued in Gurgaon where he was traveling on an Enfield and two vehicles blocked his bike head on after a furious chase. They shot air pellets and he lost balance and fell off the bike fracturing his hand and suffered bruises in the leg and hand.

After two lethal attacks, the journalist developed fear of life and this led to another disaster where he faced acute illness and abscess developed on the same leg. Endangered and alone, he refused to step out to get medical help and the sepsis and infection engulfed his organs. To his aid, came Mrs Rekha Madan a family friend who convinced him to get immediate medical help and he was evacuated to Ganga Ram under the able care of Dr Satwik, a Vascular and Endo Vascular Surgeon who left no leaf unturned to save the precious life of this aggrieved journalist. Mrs Madan who is from the armed forces being the wife of Brigadier A.S. Madan, supported and assured the journalist that his life was important and he needed hospitalisation. He was booked in a Red ambulance and on reaching Ganga Ram he was shifted to the ICU within hours where he was struggling for life and the miscreants had achieved their aim. He was on a ventilator for eight days and his family and friends prayed and chanted for his safety and life. After a brave fight to breath, the heart and kidney were giving away but at Gang Ram they stabilized the organs with medicines and relevant procedures.

Rohit being a fitness freak was able to handle the procedures and ventilator and opened his eyes on the ninth day and found his family and friends by his side. He didn’t know what happened and was clueless. He had undergone four surgeries and his skin grafting is a month away. He had also fought sepsis and fear of organ failure due to the same. After tumultuous months of agony, he faced the game of life and death created by those who feared the might of his pen and fearlessness. Ms Rita Suri, special story head Uttrakhand news India 9 has said that the miscreants will be taken to altar and the fight will be taken to its logical end.
Today, Rohit is still under the care of Dr Satwik and recovering from his wounds and being counselled and attended by the Gang Ram medical team of Dr Satwik. Journalist Rohit Kumar is indebted to Dr Swatik, his team and Mrs Rekha Madan.
