In a significant breakthrough against cyber-enabled job frauds, the Cyber Police Station, North-East District has arrested a fraudster who impersonated himself as an employee of IGI Airport, Delhi, and cheated a woman of ₹3,03,120/- on the false promise of securing a Cabin Crew job for her son.
On the complaint of a resident of Shiv Vihar, Delhi, a case E-FIR No. 00061/2025 dated 03.12.2025 under Sections 318(4)/319/340 BNS was registered at Cyber Police Station, North-East District.
The complainant alleged that in July 2024, she came into contact with an unknown person through a social media platform. The accused introduced himself as an employee posted at IGI Airport, Delhi and assured her that he could secure a Cabin Crew job for her 20-year-old son.
To gain her confidence, the accused demanded money under the pretext of security deposit, documentation charges and recruitment formalities. Believing his assurances, the complainant transferred ₹3,03,120/- through 16 online transactions between 17.09.2024 and 26.12.2024. After receiving the money, the accused neither arranged the promised job nor returned the amount. Instead, he blocked the complainant on social media platform, stopped responding to her calls and became untraceable.
The investigation was conducted through meticulous technical analysis, digital surveillance and financial transaction tracking. On the directions of senior officers, a dedicated team comprising HC Nitin Kumar, HC Ankit Tomar and Ct. Saurabh, under the leadership of Inspector Rahul Kumar, SHO/Cyber Police Station, worked relentlessly to identify and trace the accused.
Based on technical evidence and sustained field verification, the accused was successfully traced and apprehended on 06.08.2026 from Madhu Vihar, Delhi, where he was working as a Security Guard at a Store.
During sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had deliberately impersonated an employee of IGI Airport to gain the trust of job seekers through social media platform. He lured victims by promising airport jobs and collected money in the name of recruitment formalities, security deposits and documentation charges.
After receiving the payments, he blocked the victims on social media, deleted chats, destroyed the SIM card used in the crime and spent the cheated amount on his personal expenses and repayment of debts in an attempt to evade detection. Further investigation in the case is in progress.

The accused targeted job seekers through social media platform by falsely posing as an employee of IGI Airport, Delhi. He established trust by promising employment opportunities and induced victims to transfer money in instalments under the guise of security deposits, documentation and recruitment expenses. After receiving the funds, he blocked the victims, destroyed digital evidence and discontinued all communication to avoid apprehension.
