THREE ACCUSED ARRESTED
SNATCHED GOLD CHAIN AND SCOOTY USED IN THE CRIME RECOVERED

BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE: – On 22.03.2026 at about 10:03 PM, a PCR call was received at PS Paschim Vihar East regarding a snatching incident near Giani Ice Cream, Paschim Vihar. On reaching the spot, the complainant Amitoj Singh reported that at about 09:40 PM, while he along with his wife was walking near Subh Niketan Society, two unknown persons riding a scooty snatched his gold chain weighing approximately 15–18 grams and fled towards Jwalaheri Market Road.
Accordingly, FIR No. 79/2026 dated 23.03.2026 under sections 304(2)/3(5) BNS was registered at PS Paschim Vihar East and investigation was taken up.
TEAM CONSTITUTION: –
Considering the sensitivity of the case, a dedicated team comprising SI Gaurav Gahlot, HC Kuldeep, HC Neeraj, HC Manjeet, Ct. Tarun, Ct. Neetu and W/Ct. Naina, led by Insp. Rajpal, SHO PS Paschim Vihar East and under the close supervision of Sh. Rajbir Singh Lamba, ACP/Paschim Vihar was constituted to trace and nab the culprits at the earliest.
OPERATION AND RECOVERY: –
During the course of investigation, the team meticulously analyzed CCTV footage, wherein both accused were found moving without helmets. Through sustained efforts and technical surveillance, and examination of around 150 CCTV cameras, it was revealed that the accused were operating as part of a syndicate.
Due to sincere efforts of the team, on 31.03.26, one of the accused was apprehended from Mangol Puri area, who was identified as Hemant @ Hunny. A broken piece of a chain was recovered from his possession, which upon enquiry was found to be part of the snatched chain.
During sustained interrogation, the accused Hemant @ Hunny disclosed the names and whereabouts of his two associates. Acting on this information on 01.04.2026, the team apprehended them from the Rohini area, who were identified as Nitin @ Nikki and Piyush.
All three accused persons were arrested in the case and all recovered articles including the recovered snatched chain and the scooty (used in the commission of crime) were seized.
Investigation further revealed that the syndicate used to operate in a well-planned manner using multiple vehicles, to commit snatching and escape swiftly.

(Previous involvements: He is previously involved in around 42 cases)
2. Nitin @ Nikki R/o Rohini, Delhi, Age 22 years
(Previous involvements: He is previously involved in more than 10 cases.)
3. Piyush R/o Rohini, Age 21 years
(Previous involvements: more than 06 cases)
RECOVERY: –
• Snatched gold chain
• One scooty used in the commission of offence
Further investigation is in progress to ascertain their involvement in other similar cases.
