Special cell team in the supervision of DCP Amit Kaushik arrested hardcore ATM robbers and recovered 19.50 lakhs from the Mewat based Atm robbers.

Mewat  based interstate gang indulged in ATM’s breaking busted

Four notorious members of the gang namely Shahadat, Mohd. Hasim @ Chuna, Shakeel and Dilshad arrested after a brief exchange of fire.

Team of Special cell recovered 

1. A single shot pistol of .315 calibers with 01 live cartridge recovered.

2. Car RC No. HR 93C 0475 make Baleno white colour also recovered.

3. Cash amount of Rs. 19.5 lakhs which was looted from SBI ATM in Guwahati, Assam recovered.With the arrest of accused persons three cases of ATM’s breaking, one in Maharashtra and two in Assam solved.Shahadat, kingpin of the gang is previously involved in 07 criminal cases where as Mohd. Hasim @ Chuna in 12 cases, Shakeel in 03 cases and Dilshad in 05 cases of ATM’s breaking in Haryana, MP, Maharashtra and Assam.

A team of Special Cell Southern Range led by Insp. Prafull Kumar and Insp. Ranjeet Singh supervised by ACP Ved Parkash has busted an interstate gang of Mewat based criminals indulged in ATMs breaking in Delhi NCR and other states by arresting four key members of the gang namely:-
1) Shahadat resident of Mewat involved in the crime
2) Mohd. Hasim @ Chuna resident of  Tawru, Distt- Gurgaon, Haryana. L
3) Shakeel S/o Deen Mohammad resident of Mewat
4) Dilshad S/o Shahbauddin

All four have been nabbed after a brief exchange of fire in Delhi. A single shot pistol of .315 calibers with 01 live cartridge was recovered from Shahadat. Two empty shells were also recovered from the spot.

How team of Special cell officers arrested the accused involved in ATM robberies ? 

A team of Special Cell was deployed to collect intelligence about the ATM robbers and to identify the gang behind these crimes. SI Jitender, SI Jasvinder, HC Aash Mohd., HC Dheeraj, HC Anil Kumar and HC Parvesh were tasked to gather inputs in this regard. Members of team gathered information and zeroed down the members the gang behind these crimes. Efforts of three month succeeded, when a specific information was received on 26.6.24, about the visit of four members of the gang in the area of Shooting Range Road, Pul Prahladpur, New Delhi around 03 pm on 26.06.24 in their Baleno car.
A team led by Insp. Prafull Kumar and Insp. Ranjeet Singh was formed and a trap was laid. At about 4.45 pm, on 26.06.24, said Baleno car in which above four persons were sitting was seen parked. Raiding party covered the said car from back side and front side with cars. They were signaled to come out from the car by the members of the team after disclosing the identity of police. But occupants of the car tried to flee from spot by fast driving and they hit their car in a tree. However, the car was surrounded from all sides. They came out of the car. Shahadat took out his single shot pistol and fired a shot towards the team. Members of the team also fired a round in self defence to overpower all four the miscreants. Finally, four were overpowered and disarmed by the team members.
One single shot pistol of .315 calibers with 01 live cartridge recovered from Shahadat. Two empty shells were also recovered from the spot. A case under section 186/353/307 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act has been registered at PS Special Cell and investigation taken up.
On further investigation, it is also found the all the above four accused persons had recently committed ATM burglary of Rs.22,12,300/– in the area of Guwahati, Assam on 24.06.2024. A case of hardcore robbery was registered.

A cash amount of Rs. 19.5 lakhs which was looted from SBI ATM in Guwahati, Assam was also recovered from their car. Rest of the looted amount was distributed among three Assam based associate who had helped in providing gas cutter, tools etc.

Members of the gang used to identify unguarded ATM booths in less lit and isolated areas. The accused persons used to conduct a thorough reccee of the area around ATM booths. The accused persons used to sprinkle black paint on the CCTV cameras after entering the ATM booths to conceal their identity and they also used to wear face mask/ monkey caps. They used to open the ATM with the help of gas cutters and take out the cash trays. After taking away the cash, they threw away empty trays of the ATM’s.

History of Accused arrested by Special cell team :- 
All above four accused persons have disclosed that they along with their other associates were wanted in three cases of ATM’s breaking as below:-
1.FIR No. 301/24 dt 25/6/24 u/s 380/457/427 IPC at PS Jalukabari Distt Guwahati west, Assam.
2.FIR No. 187/2024 u/s 457/380/511 IPC PS Changsari, Distt. Kamru, Assam
3.FIR No. 357/2024 u/s 380/461 IPC PS Vejapur, Distt. Chhattarpati Sambhaji Nagar (Rural), Maharastra.
Accused persons had looted a cash amounting Rs. 33,51,300/- from above the ATM’s.
They also disclosed that they used to move in a Baleno car using fake number plates for reaching at all the spots of ATM’s breaking. Recovered car has been found in the name one Sakeel Bass, Buchaka, Mewat, Haryana (Brother in law of accused Dilshad). With the arrest of these gang members, three above mentioned cases have been worked out. Above mentioned accused persons are previously involved in about 27 criminal cases including ATM’s breaking in Haryana, MP, Maharashtra and Assam.

Further interrogation and investigation is in progress. Concerned state police have been informed about the arrest of accused persons.
