66 IAS and IPS officers transferred in Delhi and other Union Territories

As many as 66 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the Agmut cadre were transferred from Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, and other Union Territories by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, according to an order issued Friday.
Among the 66 bureaucrats, DELHI saw the highest number of transfers with 21 IAS and 23 IPS officers, who have been shifted from Delhi or transferred back to the Capital from other Union Territories.
It is the first major bureaucratic reshuffle after the BJP came to power in Delhi after 27 years.
Delhi IAS officers transferred
Verma, a 1994-batch officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (Agmut) cadre, held the principal secretary level posts in several key departments like Finance, Revenue, Home, Irrigation, and others. The Indian Administrative Service officer was also the finance and divisional commissioner and ACS of the Revenue department.
During his stint in the national capital, especially as the finance secretary, he had frequent tussles with the previous (AAP) government. The AAP government had accused him several times of stopping funds and policies like Mahila Samman Rashi, funds to Delhi Jal Board (DJB), the one-time settlement scheme to exempt water bills, and others sent by departments and taking decisions bypassing the minister.
The previous AAP government had also written to Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs demanding his suspension and transfer.
He has been transferred to Kashmir.
Anil Kumar Singh, an IAS officer of the 1995-batch AGMUT cadre who was posted as Urban Development Department secretary, has also been transferred to Jammu and Kashmir. Anil Kumar Singh (1995), Naveen S L (2012), Mahima Madan (2021), Ananth Dwivedi (2021), Shreya Singhal (2020), and Rishi Kumar (2021) have also been posted to Jammu and Kashmir from Delhi.
While Department of Women and Child Development secretary Chanchal Yadav and transport special secretary Sachin Shinde have been transferred to Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Vinod P Kavle has been sent to Mizoram, and Krishna Mohan Uppu, Special Secretary (Home), to Puducherry.
The Centre has also transferred Dilraj Kaur, an IAS officer of the 2000 batch, to Delhi from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. She served as Public Works Department (PWD) secretary in Delhi, and also in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
While Arun Kumar Mishra, Health Secretary, Goa, has been transferred to Delhi, eight other IAS officers from Goa, Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, and Puducherry have been brought to the national capital.
S B Deepak Kumar, Principal Secretary (Health), was transferred to Lakshadweep as advisor to the Administrator, and Sandeep Kumar, the current advisor, has been shifted to Delhi.
Delhi IPS officers transferred
Among those in the list of 26 IPS officers transferred from Delhi is 2001 batch officer B S Jaiswal — Joint Commissioner of Police (Central Range) — who has been sent to Lakshadweep.
Keshav Ram Chaurasia, Joint Commissioner, Delhi Police, has been shifted to Goa. The 2003 batch IPS officer held the charge of joint commissioner in the Economic Offences Wing in Delhi.
Three 2004 batch IPS officers, Omvir Singh Bishnoi, Raj Kumar Singh, and Dheeraj Kumar, have been transferred back to Delhi from Goa, chandigarh, and Mizoram, respectively. Pushpendra Kumar, a 2006 batch officer, has been transferred from Delhi to Chandigarh.
Umesh Kumar, a 2009 batch IPS officer, was transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi, and Ashok Malik was sent to Mizoram from the Capital.
Devesh Kumar Mahla, New Delhi District DCP and 2012 batch IPS officer, and Surendra Choudhary, South West District DCP of the 2013 batch, have been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh. Another 2013 batch IPS officer, Apoorva Gupta, who was DCP (Crime), has been transferred to Andaman and Nicobar.
Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, a 2013 batch IPS officer, was transferred to Delhi from Jammu and Kashmir. Rohit Rajbir and Anant Mittal — 2015 batch IPS officers — have been transferred from Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi.
Additional DCPs Anurag Dwivedi (2020 batch), Rishi Kumar (2021 batch), Nithya Radhakrishnan (2021 batch), and K M Priyanka (2021 batch) have been transferred from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry and Chandigarh, respectively.
